Holiday Pandemonium

This week I have tried cramming in some hoilday cultural experiences for the lovelys. We started with the art gallery, risky I know, but the Ron Mueck exhibition of super real life models of humans was a draw! There were less questions than expected on willies and bottoms and they came up with some unique and clever questions, which enhanced my experience as well. We followed up that with a trip to Chambers museum in Edinburgh. Again the kids rose to the occasion and enjoyed the experience, making it all worthwhile. Only a few tense moments involving hair pulling complete strangers by 2 year old son, and squabbles over toys in the shop on the way out. There were many moments of wondering why, as I dragged two grandparents , four children and a dog across Edinburgh on a double decker bus. But all in all you reap what you sow.
Back to using up all the apples from the garden. A variation on Apple Charlotte and Brown betty. Peel and slice twice as many apples as children, sprinkle on some demerera sugar, grate in some chocolate. In a separtae bowl make up a cake mixture, 120g of butter, 120g sugar, mix, add two eggs ,mix then 120g of flour ( could add a table spoon of cocoa powder) pour onto the apples. Something warm and sticky for your littles to eat. Ohhh and I mustn't forget to put on my new cd 'Sea sew' loving it!
